WHAT ARE WE?
Knotty in New York is a bookish event that focuses on spicy romance books of all genres, particularly in intersection with the kink community.
Readers and authors will be able to attend panel discussions, kink education, author introductions, fireside-chat style education, and participate in generally unhinged shenanigans.
There will also be a book signing open to a broader audience and other organized opportunities to enjoy the city’s vibrance.
WHEN & WHere ARE WE?
The event takes place at The Walker Loft, 120 Walker Street, 5th and 6th Fl, New York, NY on March 20, 2027. Events will also be held on March 19 and March 21.
Kinks are still being worked out, but that’s part of the fun.

Oh, you want to know why we’re organizing our own event.
We see a hole that needs to be filled. No, that doesn’t sound right. We like to stretch ourselves. Nope, also nope. Um … we … needed something to fulfill our praise/deg needs? That’s getting back to the first question. Erm …
No, in all seriousness, we love the bookish community and wanted to create an event that catered to readers like us, in our own backyard, at a time of year when there aren’t exactly a ton of on-point events. New York is such a dynamic destination, and it’s a shame there isn’t an event here aimed at those who like our spicy books anywhere from fluffy, furry, fantastical, to forbidding.
WHO ARE WE?
KiNY is the brain child of Brigitte and Becca, two best friends who both love spicy books, all things kink, and spending time with others who enjoy them as much as we do.
As avid book conference goers, both on the reader and author side, we hope to create an engaging, entertaining, and inclusive experience for all.
We’re being a touch silly in these FAQs, but this event is being professionally organized and managed. Someone left us unaccompanied and unoccupied for two hours, and by the end of it we had our LLC set up, initial research, a budget, logo design, emails, venue inquiries, core principles … you get the picture. We are a two-woman freight train with an amazing support network and community. You’re welcome.
Will we duck some things up the first year? Absolutely. Will you deeply benefit from our Type A personalities and OCD tendencies? Also yes. We will keep people up-to-date every step of the way so you can join us with confidence.
